Judging from the many featured articles on PAP ministers and MPs in The Straits Times lately, the General Election must be near. The Government-friendly newspaper must have prepared some of these articles way in advance.
On 1 May 2010, The Straits Times carried a huge report on Minister Lim Swee Say. The Insight team spent a day trailing the labour chief to find out his work schedule. It was quite a nice writeup except for some strange photographs.
See anything amiss in this photograph?
Did you notice the two boxes of mandarin oranges on his table? Such packaging only appears during Chinese New Year. These photographs were probably shot late January to early February as the supermarkets do not carry such packaging anymore.

If the article and photographs were actually done in the month of April, it would be quite strange to see mandarin oranges in such packaging around this time of the year. Could it be...

- The boxes are empty and they are collectible items.
- The boxes are full but you do not want to look inside. It may 'upturn the downturn' your stomach!
- Fairprice over-ordered for CNY 2010 so every day is Mandarin Orange Day at NTUC.
- The office cleaner has gone for upgrading and re-training exercise... again.

Just look at the amount of trash around, sure got work for people to do - Labour Chief, leh!
Seems like whatever "upturn the downturn" will become gold nuggets in the hands of the 'magician' - election year you know!
The bottle of mineral water could not have been more strategically placed?! lol
The box is there to keep those cute little "deaf-frogs" if you open it. Lim Swee Say is recycling the mandarin orange box to keep his pets.
Minister Lim has lol - lots of love for the giver of the oranges. He not throwing them even if they rotten! Unbelievable!
Bet you the liquid in the plastic bottle is Newater!
LOL
There was another pic of Swee Say with one of his union leaders sitting at a bus stop. I presume they wanted to show how "humble" he was. But it inadvertently gave the impression that he just vacated his office and was out on the streets.
